Peter Green Haulage Ltd began in the 1960s, based at the major railway junction of Evercreech in Somerset. Peter Green's father and grandfather were also both involved in road haulage, either side of the wartime nationalisation of road freight.
The 1960s also saw the beginning of company's close ties with the dairy industry, regularly carrying local Farmhouse Cheddar to markets and retailers around the country - including a small London convenience-store called J Sainsbury!
Peter Green's retirement in the early 1990s began the involvement of the Binks family. The company remains 100% family owned to this day.
From a traditional road-haulage background, the company has now been transformed into a modern full-service logistics business, with leading edge technology driving its newly built warehousing and fleet capacity.
Whilst the company retains it strong links with dairy producers, recent years have seen major expansions into other temperature controlled markets, including drinks, ready-meals and fresh meat.
